NOTE: Exam fees are paid per semester. Undergraduates pay N1,000.00 per course while postgraduates (PGD and Masters) pay N2,000.00 per course.
NOUN Admission Requirements
Undergraduate Programs
Below are the NOUN admission requirements for the undergraduate program;
- As an applicant, a minimum of 5 O-level credits including English Language and Mathematics. Although, an additional requirement might be required depending on the course.
- Obtain the JAMB Admission Form into NOUN
- Pass the Admission Screening organized by the University.
- In all cases, a successful payment will lead to the generation of an online application form which should be filled out before submission online. The admission process is automated and the outcome is virtually instantaneous!
Postgraduate Programmes
To qualify for admission into any of the postgraduate programs of the University;
- Candidate must meet, among others, all matriculation requirements of at least five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics. Some programs accept at least a pass in Mathematics.
- For Postgraduate Diploma Programmes, Candidates must possess either a minimum of pass Bachelors Degree in any discipline from a University recognized by the Senate of the NOUN OR a Higher National Diploma with a minimum of Lower Credit.
- For the Postgraduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting, the candidate must have been called to the Bar.
- Also for admission into the school of Business and Human Resource Management Postgraduate Diploma programs, candidates with professional qualifications such as ACA, ACIS, ACIB, ACII, ACIA, etc may be considered on individual merit.
Master’s degree programs
- Candidates must possess either a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of second class lower in the relevant field of study from a University accepted by the NOUN senate to be eligible to apply for the Master of Business (MBA) program.
Doctor of Philosophy Degree programs
- Candidates must have a master’s degree from a recognized institution and a cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 5-point scale.
How To Apply For NOUN Admission
Applying for admission to the National Open University of Nigeria is quite easy and not difficult at all.
The fun and exciting part of this application is that it is basically online. Below are the simple steps to follow to partake in applying for an admission is this great institution;
- Visit the site www.nouonline.net
- On the Home Page, go to the Menu Bar, Click on Apply for Admission
- Select either Undergraduate Programme or Postgraduate Programme.
- Go to the left-hand side of the page and select “Choose Faculty”
- Fill displayed form
- Click under the form to view the admission criteria
- Click “Apply” to proceed.
- Make sure you note down the UNIQUE ID displayed.
- Click the ‘Continue’ button
- Select Bank Branch as payment type and click “pay”
- Copy and take your RRR number to any bank branch for payment.
Once Payment is Complete;
- Go back to the previous site www.nouonline.net, select the “apply for admission” menu you selected before, the program you choose previously, and hit enter.
- Go to “Continue After Payment”
- Input Unique ID, RRR number, and Programme Click “Proceed”
